Photograph: a Cedros group outing
[Description] A large group — some thirty-five adults and children, many of the women and girls in white dresses and head coverings — poses on grass under big trees. Two uniformed men kneel in front; one holds a placard reading "CEDROS". Other placards are partly legible ("…NOS HAST…", "…NOS TONY") — apparently the names of other communities or groups. The occasion is not recorded in the album.
[Restoration note] The print is scratched, faded, and torn at one corner. In this copy the scratches have been reduced, colour and contrast restored, and the torn corner — foreground grass only — rebuilt with grass texture taken from elsewhere in the same photograph. The pale strip down the left edge is emulsion the print has lost; it has been left as it is rather than invented over. The untouched master (book2-p011.jpg) preserves the print as it survives.
