I am begging for better 'phone service

THE EDITOR: Would you believe that in an age when men are now exploring the moon, that here in Trinidad and Tobago, it is impossible to make use of the telephone?

Such is the state that the people of Moruga and many other rural districts are in. Or is it that to get results, the only possible way is to be drastic and use the methods which Fr. Michael Pascall, Parish Priest of Cedros did recently.

Luckily for the Telephone Company, Fr. Murray, Parish Priest of Moruga is the more Conservative type, who, because of the bad telephone system, had to disconnect his line, because he found that having a telephone was useless. He could not get through calls even to Princes Town.

CHARITY

Recently, the Grand Chemin Village Council took the matter to the Telephone Company, but this was refused on the fact finding that the area was too small. The Village Council however, was promised a telephone booth, but so far nothing has been done. It seems then, that to achieve results, you have to continually persist in attacking those concerned.

There is a saying that charity begins at home, well then if this is so, I beg the Telephone Company and the government, please see to it that, not only Moruga but all over the country, the telephone system is the best.
