Photo page: protest band photographs (no captions)
[Piece 1 of 2 — photograph, upper part of page]
Photograph: Members of the "This Is Our Neglected Cedros" band in ole mas' costume — grass/fibre skirts, one tall wrapped headdress, one pointed palm-frond headdress — standing on open ground. A masquerader at centre carries a placard, partly hidden behind the other players. Legible fragments of the placard: "…TID…", "…UTI…", "…TRE… AND", "N… DOCTOR" — the clearest words read "NO DOCTOR"; the rest of the sign is obscured by the masqueraders and cannot be recovered from the photograph.
[Piece 2 of 2 — photograph, lower part of page]
Photograph: The band parading along a Port-of-Spain street, carrying a large house-shaped costume — a model building borne on poles — with a hand-painted sign fixed to its roof. The sign is hand-lettered and partly stylised; legible elements read "…oss Hos…" and "CEDROS" (a hospital-themed costume: the "hospital for Cedros" section). A uniformed officer walks at the left; masqueraders in polka-dot costumes carry the poles; a man in a suit, tie and sunglasses walks to the right of the costume among onlookers and children. A utility pole with a bank of loudspeakers stands in the background.
